In the early summer of 1953, a young man with his wife and four daughters from Fort Smith, Arkansas, came to the Greenwood area to hold a meeting on Highway 10, about 3 miles west of Greenwood. With his vision of a Free Will Baptist Church in Greenwood, Brother H.D. Shipley, along with his family and a group of God's people, met together on August 27, 1953, to organize a church.
From there Greenwood First Free Will Baptist Church has been an open door in Greenwood for the past 70 years. Greenwood FFWBC is part of the National Association of Free Will Baptist's and is active in it's Unity Association District, as well as state and national levels. Our mission is to equip individuals to Know Christ, Love Christ, and Share Christ. We do that in a number of ministries. From Nursery Care to Senior Adults, Greenwood FFWBC has something for everyone.
We meet for Bible Study Sunday Morning at 10:00am, Worship Services at 11:00am and 6:00pm, and Mid-Week Services on Wednesday night at 7:00pm.
